Sarah Chartrand has over 20 years of experience leading talent, culture and organization initiatives. She is energized by exploring trends, topics, and practices influencing the future of this field. Sarah grew up in Detroit, Michigan, and attended Michigan State University where she studied Sociology and obtained her first Master’s Degree in Labor Relations and Human Resources. She spent several years as a Change Management consultant at Accenture, working across a variety of industries including automotive, financial services, and consumer products.

In 2000, Sarah joined Stop & Shop/Ahold and discovered her enthusiasm for all things people and retail. She has worked within and across multiple functions, including organizational development, strategy, business planning & process improvement.

While working at Stop & Shop, she pursued her MBA from Boston College. She progressed quickly through several roles in HR and Operations, making a positive impact on associate engagement, talent development, and customer satisfaction, and eventually becoming the head HR Business partner for Ahold USA’s retail divisions. In 2016, Sarah took on a global role leading talent, leadership & diversity across Ahold Delhaize.

Sarah loves collaborating with and learning from amazingly talented and diverse colleagues from across the globe, and believes that inclusion is the key to growth and innovation in the future.
